2nd Snowiest March in Colorado

Today, Zoey woke up early due to tooth pain. I was able to get her back down to sleep to get one more hour of sleep. Pete also helped to get her back to sleep. That additional sleep made me feel refreshed and fortunate I didn’t need to go work today.

After 8:00 am, the snow started to pick up a bit more to the point they closed the pool and other restaurants in the area. So no pool workout as planned but I did get in a workout at OTF. I am discovering that my left side is weaker than my right side. On my right, I can pick up 25 lb weights and on my left side 20’s. After discussion with Pete and the coach, I better stick with 20’s until I can get both sides even for weights. I would hate to get shoulder issues from improper weights lifting. Maybe some alignment workouts would help with this issue.

Small food processor, but look how it chopped up those apples!
This was the snow around 11 am, it just keeps coming down. It’s predicted we will get around 19 inches in some parts of the Denver metro area.

Last night, I baked an apple crisp bar with a slight hint of lemon flavor. It was hands down amazing! I also can’t get enough of the small food processor we got for Christmas. It was a small gift but one of the most useful gifts out there. I used it to get fine apple bits and tiny pecan bits. I’ll see if I can upload a video of it.

I also made a shredded chicken tortilla soup. Pete added some cheese and Tabasco sauce to his meal and it was delicious. Tonight I’ll work on adding the recipe to my collection.

For now, I will leave this post with some helpful Information about baking. Always have the following ingredients in your pantry: unsweetened cocoa powder, unsalted butter, and salted butter.

The Weekend

This weekend we were expecting a major storm in the Denver metro area with over 4 feet of snow. Now it’s more like we will get 1-2 feet of snow. We have the snow sleds ready and no one in our house has plans this weekend, so the snow is welcomed.

I decided to get my old garmin charged because it will help me with training. Prior to the garmin I was using a fit bit, but I broke out in a rash because apparently I’m allergic to nickel.

Tomorrow, the plan is to get into the pool. I’m going to try and just swim 1000 yards and see how the body does with it. If the weather is crappy tomorrow, then the city will close the pool and I’ll go to orange theory.

Finally, got the contacts prescription reordered. Once I get it, then I need to get the contacts ordered. Poor vision makes the swimming part of this experiment tricky and it’s critical I have contacts for it.
