Rocky Mountain Ramen- Erie, Colorado

In recent years, ramen has undergone a fascinating transformation in our society. It has been a staple that has proliferated throughout the Denver area. I remember when Federal in Denver was the place to go for ramen. Today, ramen is much easier to find, similar to craft breweries.  There’s something remarkable about ramen because it is so tasty, so addicting, so warm that it becomes a craving even on days when the weather is warm.

Ramen is one of those foods that I enjoy and so I must you tell about my experience dining at Rocky Mountain Ramen. My boyfriend and I discovered this restaurant because he drives by it often along Highway 287 in Erie. It’s located in a strip mall with other stores and can be seen from the highway. Parking is readily available and they are open everyday.

When you step into the restaurant, you are greeted with a vibrant mural on the wall with a picture of ramen and large “slurp it up!” encouragement . The menu is concise and easy to read with foods such as regular ramen, Japanese style ramen, and spicy ramen.

When it comes to ramen, one of the most important components is the broth. I tried the Japanese style ramen which has a fish flavor. I think the fish flavor adds a deeper flavor to the soup and a unique aftertaste. While I enjoy the flavor, I also enjoy that it isn’t overflowing with noodles. All in all, their ramen has a perfect balance of noodles, broth, meat, spinach, and eggs. A great addition to the ramen is the fried garlic.
